interview With @poth_skin

  1. Can you tell us more about the beginnings of Poth?

“There are two things that combined to lead me to starting the brand. One of them is from my own experience figuring out how to take care of my skin. In my late 20s, I started talking to dermatologists about what to do to help take care of my skin as I got older and the reality is not very glamorous. Basic high-quality skin care and if you’re looking for more dramatic results as you get older, you really need to talk to a dermatologist about in clinic treatments. This is very much not what skin care brands want you to believe.

Which leads me to the second thing that led me to start the brand. I have worked in the e-commerce industry for the last four years. By working inside of different brands, I have learned the reason why skincare brands are always pushing new fads and trends. The answer is not as simple as just saying brands want to sell more products. It’s because they have growth targets and sales targets set by investors. The best way to grow the brand is by launching new products, even if they don’t work better than the products they already sell.

So, I personally wanted to start a brand that sold just a few high-quality products that I would want to use. It was important that I not take any money from professional investors who would pressure me to sell products I don’t believe in or I don’t think we should sell.”

2.What is the best skincare advice that you can give us?

“Honestly, this also answers the second question. High-quality simple skin care with ingredients that have been proven in medical journals for your day-to-day skin care. If you are looking for more dramatic results, you need to go see a dermatologist for an in clinic treatment.”

3. Which Poth skincare product do you always carry with you?

“The poth product that I always have with me is the eye cream! It comes in a beautiful little jar that’s very travel, friendly. and making sure my eyes don’t look tired is always a priority.” @poth_skin ‍https://pothskin.com
